Various pharmacological agents have been explored for their ability to delay delivery and improve neonatal outcomes. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of isoxsuprine alone versus a combination of oral magnesium fort and isoxsuprine in controlling uterine contractions and preventing preterm labor.</span><br> <span new="" roman="" times=""><span style="color:#2980b9;"><b>Methods:</b></span> In this clinical trial, 100 pregnant women between 24 and 34 weeks of gestation with a history of uterine contractions were enrolled. Participants were randomly assigned to two groups: the intervention group received oral magnesium fort combined with isoxsuprine, while the control group received isoxsuprine alone. The treatment continued until 37 weeks of gestation. The primary outcome was the interval from contraction control to delivery, and the secondary outcome was the frequency of uterine contractions.</span><br> <span new="" roman="" times=""><span style="color:#2980b9;"><b>Results:</b></span> Overall, women in the intervention group had a significantly more extended latency period from contraction control to delivery and experienced fewer uterine contractions compared to the control group (P < 0.05). In a subgroup analysis of women in their second pregnancy, the mean gestational age at delivery was 243.79 &plusmn; 13.90 days in the control group versus 256.17 &plusmn; 8.60 days in the intervention group, with a statistically significant difference (P = 0.004).</span><br> <span new="" roman="" times=""><span style="color:#2980b9;"><b>Conclusion:</b> </span>Combining oral magnesium fort with isoxsuprine appears to be more effective than isoxsuprine alone in prolonging gestation and reducing uterine contractions.
